We mentioned in an earlier post (Feb. 22, 2012) that we are working on our paragraphing skills. Traditionally, the provincial assessment (E.Q.A.O.) has asked students to write a paragraph as part of the short answer writing tasks. As we looked at some of these paragraph questions, we made an interesting discovery...the idea box! This is the box of planning space provided to students on the assessment. We came up with an organizer that we felt would not only help us plan our thinking, but wouldn't make us use up all of our writing stamina filling it out! Below you'll find some pictures of us using the idea box, as well as a shot of our finalized paragraph criteria chart.
